Tove Lo Gets Wild with a Sexually Active Muppet in Her “Disco Tits” Music Video

The Swedish pop music star returns with a video for the first single off her upcoming album “Blue Lips.”

Tove Lo Gets Wild with a Sexually Active Muppet in Her “Disco Tits” Music Video

Ever since Tove Lo first emerged four or five years ago, she’s lent further credence to the stereotype of Swedes being pop music savants. Following in the footsteps of RedOne, Denniz Pop, and Max Martin, Lo’s carved out quite a career writing songs for other artists in the pop sphere. Ellie Goulding, Hilary Duff, Lorde, Lea Michele, and fellow Swedes Icona Pop and Zara Larsson have all enlisted Lo to co-write singles in recent years, the profits of which seem to have allowed the 29-year-old to do basically whatever she wants with her solo career.

A fair amount of the time, that seems to boil down to dark, personal music that hides behind a cloak of goofiness. For example, Tove Lo’s last album unflinchingly addressed relationship problems like objectification and shallowness, but then again, it was entitled Lady Wood. Her last two videos, “Fairy Dust” and “Fire Fade,” were both lengthy, conceptual films based around album tracks, and to offset those, we have the new video for her latest single, “Disco Tits.”

Directed by Tim Erem, the same guy behind those two extended Tove Lo videos, this one starts with Tove being awkwardly interviewed by a Muppet-esque character on TV, before flirting with him, and taking him on the ride of his life. Our puppet friend, we soon learn, is cunnilingus-obsessed, and road head ensues during a convertible ride through a desert. Him and Tove stop at a roadside diner, argue about barbeque sauce, and then take a cocktail of what appears to acid and ecstasy. At this point, Mr. Muppet starts morphing into a sexy, long-haired dude as further romantic hijinks occur. What an idea for a video!

“Disco Tits” is the lead single from Tove Lo’s upcoming third album, Blue Lips, which is positioned as a sequel to Lady Wood and will also be accompanied by two extended videos. Stay tuned for a release date and preorder information.
